Frequently Asked Questions
What platforms is Halloween: The Game on?+
Halloween: The Game is releasing on PC via Steam, with the official website also mentioning console releases. The Steam store page is live for wishlisting, and the game launches September 8, 2026. The core experience is the 1v4 asymmetrical multiplayer plus a standalone singleplayer story mode, The Night He Came Home, built on Unreal Engine 5.
How do you play as Michael Myers?+
As Michael Myers you are an unkillable stalker who hunts the residents of Haddonfield. You move through shadows to approach victims without being detected, use a nightmarish array of abilities to terrorize and claim them, and manage your visibility carefully — because frightened townsfolk will call the police and even fight back, and patrols grow stronger the more they are alerted.
How do Heroes win in Halloween: The Game?+
Heroes of Haddonfield win by working together to survive the night: arm yourselves with everyday household items and weapons, equip NPC townsfolk to create distractions, alert the police to summon increasingly powerful patrols, and rescue innocent families before Michael finds you. Coordination across the map is the key to outpacing the Shape.
Is there a singleplayer mode?+
Yes — The Night He Came Home is a standalone singleplayer story mode told from Michael Myers' perspective, covering the haunting narrative events of Halloween night, 1978. It is separate from the 1v4 online multiplayer and is a major selling point of the game, giving players a narrative experience unlike typical asymmetrical horror titles.
What weapons can Heroes use?+
Heroes can pick up everyday household items and lethal weapons across Haddonfield to fend off Michael. You can also equip NPC townsfolk with weapons to create distractions and windows for escape. The exact full roster is still being confirmed by the developers before launch, so treat specific item lists as subject to change until the September 8 release.
What maps are in the game?+
The game is set in the neighborhood of Haddonfield in 1978, with an expansive array of dynamic map features that shape each match — streets, houses, patrol routes, escape routes and hiding spots. Full street-level layouts have not been fully revealed pre-release, so expect concept-level guidance until launch confirms the complete map details.
How does 1v4 multiplayer work?+
In 1v4 multiplayer, one player becomes Michael Myers (the killer) and up to four players become Heroes of Haddonfield (the survivors). Heroes coordinate to arm up, alert police, equip NPCs and rescue families, while Michael stalks and terrorizes them. The game supports online co-op and PvP with matchmaking and friend invites.
